**In honor of Father's Day and rremembering my dad wo was father, mentor, teacjer and best friend. My dad passed in 1994, but he is in my thoughts and heart each day. Happy Father's Day, dad and everyone.
Original post 6/15/08 - Channel flipping between baseball's All-Star Game, Big Brother, and Flipping Out. My reality television obsession is obvious by the last two shows in that list.
Watching the game from Yankee Stadium brings back childhood memories of going to the "house that Ruth built" with my dad. My dad was a die-hard Red Sox fan who, unfortunately, never saw the "Beaner's" wins a World Series in his lifetime. How he had a son who bleeds Yankee's pinstripes, I will never know! But my dad never tried to change my alliance, even when he sat next to me in the bleachers at Yankee Stadium chanting "Boston Sucks!" It was the first time, at age 9, that I cussed in my life! Amazing that at age 9 I thought that "sucks" was a curse word - was it my age or was that the seventies that made it seem as such?
Dad, I miss you so much and love you! Oh, and I cheered for you when the Sox won the first of their two championships in the past few years! Not the second, but the first! Go Yankees!
Oh yeah Dad - the Red Sox manager Terry Franconna is managing the AL All Star team at Yankee Stadium. Talk about a surreal moment!
Have you seen this show Flipping Out? I've been called neurotic and anal retentive in my lifetime, but this guy Jeff on the show takes the cake! The behavior is almost repulsive, but makes for compelling television. I hope that I don't even approach that level. If I do, my friends have permission to smack me! (As long as if it's not too hard, and doesn't leave a mark nor mess up the outfit which I am wearing, etc...).
Project Runway premiers tomorrow! Oh happy day!
The job hunt continues to plod along slowly here in Nashville. My affirmation is that things happen for a reason and that good things are on the horizon!
